Voices from the past
Some of the songs and voices (women especially) now are pretty dated but there are plenty of discoveries to be made too. Paul Robeson's version of Ol'Man River is very different from the one we usually hear. In "Who" the real star is not Binnie Hale but Jack Buchanan (uncredited). Two very nice pieces by the Savoy Orpheans and it's good to hear Hutch again. George Olsen sounds rather like Fred Astaire (who is also on the CD and maybe he is accompanied by George Gershwin). Transfers are pretty good and all in all worth the trip down memory lane.
