Marburg Heart Score or MHS is used to rule out the possibility of coronary heart disease (CHD) in patient with chest pain. A patient with Marburg Heart Score (MHS) ≤2 generally does not need urgent evaluation of chest pain. Marburg Heart Score (MHS) ≥3 does not necessarily mean the patient have unstable coronary heart disease (CHD). But since unstable coronary heart disease (CHD) cannot be excluded, such patients generally warrant more urgent evaluation or inpatient admission. Coronary heart disease (CHD) is the narrowing or blockage of the coronary arteries, usually caused by atherosclerosis.
