Biased world view and state-run propaganda

BBC is probably the mother of modern hypocrisy. Branding itself as ‘neutral’ and ‘objective’, it is in fact one of the largest propaganda machines worldwide to sell British-centric opinion pieces (I refuse to call them ‘reports’) without any academic standards. In the global English-speaking hegemony, the BBC’s mission is clearly to tackle anything that’s not in line with the UK’s state interests, take them out of their necessary context in order to easily demonize them like witch-hunting, and to force an extremely single-minded and biased British gaze. This massive manipulation is not much different than their old imperialist colonial attitude, which is ridiculously out-of-date in our modern era. The BBC does NO good to world peace, as well as mutual respects based on profound understanding between different societies and cultures.

BBC Live auto play on Bluetooth in car

Strangest thing is happening with the app. When getting in my car, the BBC live starts playing via Bluetooth even when mobile data and auto play has been disabled on the app.
This happens when the iPhone doesn’t have the Music app opened in the background. Once the BBC app starts playing, connecting the iPhone via lightning cable to Apple CarPlay, the display show BBC Live playing via the CarPlay App on the car’s entertainment screen.
The app was running on iPhone X and, now on iPhone 12 Pro Max. The car in question is the Volvo XC 90 2017 model.

App slows down to grinding hold

Recently the app slows down to a grinding hold. It starts of fine, but the longer you use it, it suddenly stops responding. Pages load in but scrolling stops. Trying to quit the application seems to lock the phone completely. Screen becomes unresponsive, buttons on the side don’t do anything. After 30 seconds you can finally swipe the app to the top to close it. I thing the app has a memory or resource issue. Started using it less. It is on a iPhone 8.

Love the app and the news is reported clearly and subjective. But why allow those horrendous Google-chosen advertisements? I don’t see any advertising on BBC television, so why subject us to that drivel on your app? Plenty of superb apps are free AND add-free! In recent times scrolling is no longer smooth on my iphonex (with healthy battery). Articles using webviews instead of dedicated mobile content are slow to load and often render poorly. I understand you need advertising but it is on top of articles which makes me need to block them using a VPN.

I love BBCNews... one of the most neutral and factual.
Yet I have been shocked to see that when Bezos gives a few bucks for bookshops and it is supposed to be private, it makes the headlines and is applauded.
A couple similar articles struck me.
Please ensure that all journalist keep the ethical standards that make BBCNews stand out.
Otherwise it will become just another sided news place. Good journalist will move away and readers will move away too.

The people behind the news, always with a personal story, the cutting edge news from the fringes of scientific research, and also news that is heart-breaking but that needs to be brought.
For a foreigner the language use is often a challenge but I still give it my best because the tone of the overall site (as it is with many BBC content) is so universally human, as if we are really creating 'a brotherhood of mankind'... .

They clearly understand the uniqueness of the iPad. It's not enough to transport a paper to PDF for the iPad or transport your website (we can use Safari to brows websites). This app was built for the iPad.
Nice to use. Great articles and video incorporated. Sharing on social media and email is built-in too. The only recommendation I would give to the developers would be to enhance the Twitter sharing option. Right now you can post the title and a link to the article on Twitter via this app, but there isn't a possibility to add an extra note to your Twitter post.
