De problemen geraken niet opgelost
Sinds de laatste ‘update’ is Duolingo Spaans zo goed als onbruikbaar. Na enkele zinnen in een oefening gemaakt te hebben, hapert Duolingo en kun je niet verder werken. De App bevriest. Ik heb het probleem al herhaaldelijk gemeld, maar er komt geen oplossing!

Il manque l’apprentissage du NL depuis le FR
J’aime beaucoup l’appli mais je trouve dommage qu’on ne puisse pas apprendre le néerlandais depuis le Français. C’est essentiel en Belgique dont ce sont les 2 langues principales.

Excellente application
J’aime beaucoup l’application. Je ne sais plus si au début (quand on installe l’application) on peut choisir dans quelles circonstances ou non on veut apprendre la langue mais ça serait bien de l’inclure s’il l’option n’y est pas car parfois on apprend des mots un peu inutiles si on veut parler avec des potes dans un autre langue, comme passeport en espagnol ou autre (j’ai pas d’autre exemples là mtn).
Ensuite il faudrait supprimer les noms. Dans le sens où quand on vous question cents fois et qu’il faut simplement mettre les Prénoms, c’est pas forcément cool puisqu’on s’en fou un peu. Donc quand j’apprends l’espagnol et que la moitié des questions je dois simplement remplir par « Maria », « Pablo » ou « Diego » , c’est assez simple et ça permet de pas trop perdre de cœur mais bon.
En dehors de ça, je trouve que l’application est vraiment vraiment vraiment bien faite, on peut facilement revoir des anciens mots et des anciennes erreurs donc ça nous fait ressouvenir de ce qu’on a apport quelques jours ou quelques semaines avant, c’est vraiment une bonne manière pour le long terme. Surtout que l’option est parfois automatique et vous propose de revoir vos anciennes erreurs. Très très bien si on veut apprendre une langue.
J’ai commencé le cours de musique qui est pas mal aussi, je ne m’y étais jamais intéressé plus que ça mais c’est assez simple d’apprendre la musique finalement, sur Duolingo.

1) Soit disant « Gratuit » MAIS la pression est ÉNORME pour acheter leur abonnement, pub de 15sec sur leur abonnement toutes les 2/3 minutes + autres pubs ce qui devient vite très pénible et l’utilisation gratuite impossible dans la durée.
2) Malgré mes recherches sur l’appli et sur leur site internet je n’ai trouvé nulle part le prix de l’abonnement. Il demandent donc de s’abonner sans savoir à l’avance ce qui va être facturé ! Je ne sais même pas si c’est légal. En cherchant sur des forums je vois que le prix est de 15€/mois.
Donc appli plutôt bien faite oui, mais gratuit est une simple appellation marketing publicitaire, car l’utilisation sans abonnement est cauchemardesque.

J’arrive au bout et ensuite ça bugg, je suis obligé d’éteindre mon iPhone et chaque fois je dois recommencer et à nouveau le bugg.
J’aimerai passé cette étape car elle ne m’intéresse pas , donc je ne sais comment faire, mon but c’est d’apprendre la langue anglaise.

The app had become increasingly pay to learn, to the point where it's almost impossible to not go crazy while using the free version. Every lesson is followed by a 30 second ad and vital functions have been removed. I used to be very happy with this app, but the quality seems to be declining more and more with every update.

I used to really like this app it helped me learn two languages. I also like the streak system because it pushes me to work every day. But since this new update I think my interest has lowered. I liked the layout better the way it was before so please change it back🥺

Completely ruined after the upgrade
I have an almost 1300 day streak on
Duo, I used to be a big fan and encourage people to learn languages on duolingo because you could vary a lot, you had a great overview and the hints gave you a enough of the grammatical structure to get why certain sentences are built the way they are. All of these assets are gone with the latest upgrade. I have tried to get used to the new lay-out and give it a change, but my first intuition of “I don’t like this” has only grown into “I really hate this” instead of getting used to the new structure. For me this upgrade has taken all the fun out of the learning process, it feels like being in secondary school again and doing mandatory exercises just for the sake of doing them but not learning anything because it is not differentiating or challenging at all and seems to have no meaning… I am utterly disappointed.

New update
New update is extremely bad. It looks like candy crush, super unclear which lesson treats what topic and it feels like I have to redo so many courses at basic level. After years of studying Italian on the app and reaching level 4 on almost all lessons, all of a sudden I’m half way through the trajectory and all lessons feel like the annoying level 1 courses and it claims words like ‘ effettivamente’ are new for me. The strength of the app imo was in the levels, where exercises became more difficult every level.
Also never take the free trial, I paid for Duolingo for a whole year without wanting to. When I wanted to stop my trial a week in advance it told me ‘don’t worry we will tell you before it ends’ and then they never did. I was one day too late and the money was already taken from my bank account.

Please change the lesson layout back to the way it was before the update. It is really chaotic. The skill tree was much better, I don’t understand what the “improvements” are in the new update, because the entire thing got worse. Please fix this.

Désastreux depuis la mise à jour
Après 113 jours d’utilisation continue et une grande motivation et de sérieux progrès dans l’apprentissage de l’espagnol grâce à Duolingo (version familiale payante), une mise à jour de l’interface qui prive l’utilisateur de toute liberté et qui empêche chaque utilisateur de faire un apprentissage adapté à ses besoins. Payer un prix assez élevé pour finalement se retrouver avec une mise à jour qui change radicalement d’approche, qui impose une version bien moins performante et qui ne laisse pas l’option de préférer l’approche précédente, c’est très très décevant. On ne devrait pas changer une équipe qui gagne. Dommage, mais je vais donc partir à la recherche d’autres applications..

I really tried to give the new layout a chance, but it just bores me to death :( I used to always be spreading my learning over 5 different topics at once, now I need to repeat the same lesson over and over until its completely finished - and sometimes it is a lesson I already learned in the old layout! Completely demotivating.

Not fixed bugs for a while no response from customer support
Score is not being added, added wrongly, or even being decreased. You may close the app then open it and it bring you back to the score you had 10 mins ago. This problem started a while ago. I was sending requests but getting only polite note please send more information and photos. Photos of what?

New update
The new update is realy bad. The lay out is like Candy crush. I am learning swedish now, and everytime i got new words i’ve got like 4 lessons to memorize the words and then I need to practice the basic words from round one. PLEASE CHANGE IT BACK!!!!!

Don’t update
I absolutely dislike the latest updates. Please change it back to the previous homescreen. I miss my overview and possibility to repeat certain lessons.

The new update is terrible! You can’t chose no more which lesson you make. Layout wis worse, Much more pushed toward the payed version,... I am discouraged

Hate the latest update
Like many, I’m very disappointed by the latest update. Lowering the amount of XP we can get, so we have to watch more ads? D!ck move Duo. Just like they lowered the amount of gems we got a while ago.
They also claim to have “saved my progress”. I guess it must be on a server in a basement somewhere then, because I’m not seeing it in the app. I had finished all units up to level 3 and many beyond level 3. Now I’m back to saying “the garage is a garage”.

Update is horrible
I loved duolingo and practiced every day. But the new interface is horrible and couldn’t motivate me anymore 😭 pls return to the old interface where you could practice a whole unit in one time for 20 xp 😢

Not all changes are good
The new layout (around 20/08/2022) is really awful and the progress reset that happens with it does not boost your motivation at all. If I were to write this review 1 month ago, I would have given 4 or 5 stars since I was a more then 3 year subscriber. But now I asked for a refund of my resubscription (I even took a family one this time) and stopped my subscription as a token sign.

Why a reset ?
I am using Duolingo for one year now, have plenty of stars… and then a reset and I have to restart every lesson ?
I’m not bilingual but I think I don’t deserve to say that « Clara is French » and « Sam os bilingual » again

Ik vind het heel leuk om hier op te werken tijdens deze tijden! Soms heb ik niet zo veel tijd!Maar probeer zo veel mogelijk te werken! Ik vind het leuk dat ik op deze app mag werken! En je leert me veel beter engels en normaal kwamen mijn engelse neven en nichten in de paasvakantie dan kon ik tegen hun Engels praten! Maar jammer mogen ze niet komen door Corona! Veel liefs Juliette!😍

Abonnement premium inutile
Je ne laisse jamais de commentaire négatif mais réellement j’y suis contraint. Après plus de 270 jours de présence sur l application ( que j ai payé en compte premium) voilà que je perds ma série sans raison! Vu que j’ai Duolingo plus, j ai le droit à une récupération de série mensuelle mais celle ci ne m est pas offerte sous prétexte qu’elle aurait déjà été utilisée! Je me trouve avec un choix : soit payé pour récupérer ma série honteusement volée, ou soit perdre ma série! L application ne récompense pratiquement pas l effort investi mis à part ce système de « streak » et malgré tout, cela vous est retiré. J ai contacté à plusieurs reprises le service pour m’aider et la encore c’est la catastrophe puisque mes mail me reviennent en copie conforme sans aucune réponse de leur part. Après avoir payé une application gratuite prêt de 100€ pour « promouvoir l apprentissage gratuit des langues », je me suis fait avoir de manière scandaleuse.

Que j'ai connue à ses débuts sans pub, ni invitation à ouvrir son porte-monnaie pour maintenir ses séries...cela démotive un peu et s'assimile à de l'extorsion selon moi...Ô tempora...
Pour le reste, une appli très bien fichue!

Une accessibilité aux langues épatante :)
Une super appli pour les assoiffés de langues. Ceux qui maîtrisent l'anglais auront accès à un tas de langues allant de l'espagnol jusqu'au coréen, en passant de temps en temps par des langues imaginaires comme le Haut Valyrien et le Klingon qui va bientôt sortir en bêta. Duolingo a une très grosse communauté derrière qui collabore pour rassembler des connaissances, et est en constante expansion.
