I do like Airmail. The best email program I have found…and I have tried many.

I also greatly appreciate the help of Steven who has been a great help in answering some questions I had. He is very competent and helpful.

Good app - bad customer satisfaction

Before the subscription model I bought Airmail on Mac and iOS. The mail client works fine and has lot’s of options. Then the developper decided to switch to a subscription licensing model. Since then I get annoying pop ups to try to get me in the subscription model. Since I already payed twice for the app - MAC version and iOS version - it’s a pure insult. Customers from the early hour get punished . For me.. no more Airmail.. I switched to Spark which has almost the same options and is FREE.. if they decide to go to a paying single purchase app , I will gladly do so.. shame on you Airmail..

Great app, but abhorrent business practice

I loved the app from the moment I purchased it a couple of years ago, but then they switched to a subscription model and everything I paid for when purchasing went away and I’m expected topcoat a subscription fee. What a crock!

Subscription model

And as it is even not enough that they convert a software for which I paid to own, to a subscription model software if you want to keep using core functionalities, after the last update, they literally slap you around the ears every 30 minutes with an ad to upgrade to that subscription model. I feel insulted! Software, and developer to avoid. Untrustworthy company, do not spend any money on them!!

just don’t make a giant popup appear to suscribe anymore, it is annoying as in a cheap game and agressive. Does not make me want to buy. Use better marketing !

Buggy, buggy, buggy...

I really wonder if the Airmail team is doing any debug before releasing the app. I was really loving Airmail and the Mac version is rather stable and clean. But the mobile version is incredibly full of bugs, and this is not acceptable for a paying app. I’m (or I was?) using Airmail with my company Office 365 email and I’m having serious difficulties in managing the emails. Please fix it! Debug, debug, debug!!!

More then OK, the better on the market...but still work todo

Most people give the app 1 star. But that’s because the made a change in their business model. Not for the app himself.

I find it quit normal that after a few year the want new income. So they could choose for two things. Made a new version that everybody needs to pay or update the app with new features and made the new features only available for paid subscribers.

So I don’t see the problem? You have the same features as in the past.

And be honest, € 9,99/year, its not that amount.

I give my review over the app himself and yes I am a pro user (paid subscription).

I find it more than average. A lot of features that other mail apps don’t have.

The key features for me are the possibility to use labels for your e-mail (for non Gmail accounts), a lot of integrations with other apps (Todoist, OneDrive, Dropbox, iCloud,...), many swipe actions,...

Also nice that you have the MacOS version for free with your subscription.

But, there is still work todo. Sometimes the sync between Mac version and iOS version isn’t running smoothly.

Push notifications don’t work very well on my IMAP account, Push sounds don’t work, only the badges work.

Don’t do this. Don’t force this on users. Don’t force it on people who have paid before.

By far the worst app that ever did this to me, switched to Spark with a snap of the finger.

I hope they lose a lot of users. Because that would be very justified.

Don’t mind the subscription but...

I would then expect the app to work better. For example, deleting mails (google apps) on my iPhone should also remove them on my mac and iPad. But lately the sync is a bit off to say the least.

Buggy and paid for nothing

At first I was angry cause I paid for something that isn’t working well. It isn’t recognize as default mail app, it’s almost impossible to send à file correctly, OneDrive implémentation doesn’t work at all,...

Now I just realise my purchase was for nothing because the app has switched to a yearly fee, which is overpriced for what the app is giving.

Really disapointed I hope they will improve cause I’m also using it on my Mac.

I wrote this some time ago since then more bugs and crashes + the fact I paid for something great that us becomming a buggy app now and I have to pay again. So today I’m unfortunately deleting the app...

The idea of switching from the paid app to subscription is outrageous. No wonder everybody rates 1 star. How can you come up with that decision wihtout automatically offer subscription to the loyal users? Is this the way you thank your customers? I can’t believe how bad this situation is. Une réputation largement surfaite

Airmail est annoncé comme une belle app mais c’est largement surfait. Imaginez: pas de badge montrant le nombre de messages non lus.

Et pire: unilatéralement Airmail change sa stratégie et des fonctionnalités achetées sont supprimées pour forcer à prendre abonnement.

Complément sur absence de badge:je ne comprends pas que l’icône n’affiche pas le nombre de messages non lus. Il faut alors ouvrir à l’aveugle pour voir si de nouveaux e-mails sont arrivés. Assez incroyable qu’une application payante reconnue pour sa flexibilité ne permette pas d’afficher le nombre de messages reçus sur l’icône. J’ai interpellé le support et ça n’a rien donné. Très décevant

Unbelievably shameless

I bought the app a couple of years ago. Was happy with it, until the makers decided to make a subscription model of it; whilst we had already paid for all of these features. The wordt part is that it happened without any single communications until the app was updated and found it strange that I didn't receive emails...

It initially said that those who bought received 4 months for "free" which didn't also happen... I paid eventually to use some of the features for the time being, but as I was forced to do so I am definitely going to move.

Makes one wonder one kind of other shady stuff are the makers doing or even if they are honest about what they gather from us in terms of data and info. Never seen such a malafide practice!!

Features I paid for suddenly removed

Airmail swapped to a subscription based model this week requiring users who previously paid for the app to suddenly fork over 3 euros per month to keep features (like push notifications) I previously paid for. This seems like a huge mistake and I won’t be using an app from a developer that pulls the rug under existing customers in this way.

Imagine you buy a car with air conditioning. After having driven the car for a year, the manufacturer says: if you want to continue using your air conditioning, you have to pay me a subscription fee, but I’ll let you use it for another 4 months.

Would you accept this? I don’t. Yet this is exactly what the creator of this app did. First I paid for the app, which included push notifications, now I have to pay for a premium subscription to use push notification.

Riche et personnalisable

J’ai acheté Airmail pour mon iPhone car j’avais connu quelques soucis de stabilité avec Apple Mail.

Points positifs : belle interface, fonctions très personnalisable... J’aime, par exemple, mettre un mail en rappel ou en créer un PDF et le ranger dans iCloud Drive d’un seul geste !

Points négatifs : certains textes apparaissent tout petits, trop petits pour être lisibles ! Alors que Mail App les gèrent parfaitement; le mail d’iCloud n’est pas disponible...; la gestion des photos n’est pas bonne, impossible de zoomer ou de la voir en plein écran ... enfin, il y a parfois tant d’options qu’on ne sait pas facilement laquelle choisir (pour se faire envoyer un rappel de mail par ex.). Pour moi la mauvaise gestion de la taille des textes et des photos est rédhibitoire... je regrette mon achat.

Good but work to be done

Lots of features but some pesky issues remain.

Sometimes very annoying like clicking the 3 buttons to see the email trail but nothing is shown (so I need to do a fwd: to see the whole mail).

I would love to see better support for keyboard use (like using shift/down array to select multiple emails and then pressing delete to remove them all).

Keep up the good work....

Looking forward to new versions with improvements...

So far, excellent

I've only been evaluating for a couple of days but first impressions are superb. Coming from Spark, Airmail offers the same functionality AND more, and it's for the latter that I switched.

Kudos for the Helpdesk, which is lightening fast !

Very buggy

The interface is very nice and handy BUT

I didn't manage to set up my exchange account

AND the app shuts down very often all by itself for no reason.

On top of that, even if all mails have been read in all boxes, it keeps saying that there are 5 unread mails. I open the app and ... nothing.

I think I've never had to deal with such a bugged app. Very unfortunate!

C'est vrai elle est payante, MAIS après avoir testé un bon nombre d'application Mail, c'est de très loin la meilleure, beaucoup de réglages, design magnifique, intégration avec d'autre application très complète, customisable à souhait. Ça me fait vraiment plaisir de payer 4.99e pour un application de cette qualité. J'espère qu'il en feront d'autre pourquoi pas une application de calendrier. Encore bravo aux développeurs !!
