Description
Introduction Gastrointestinal stromal tumours (GISTs) are the most common mesenchymal neoplasm of the gastrointestinal (GI) tract. However, they only account for 1% of primary GI neoplasms. They are commonly found in the stomach (60%) and small intestine (25%), but may also occur in the colon, rectum, oesophagus, mesentery and omentum (15% total) [1].
