Susanna Karstedt is Professor at the School of Criminology and Criminal Justice of Griffiths University in Australia. Formerly she held research and teaching positions at the Universities of Bielefeld and Hamburg in Germany and she was professor of criminology at Keele University and at the University of Leeds, in the United Kingdom.

This podcast aims to draw a map of the state of criminology across Europe through the words of contemporary criminologist. How is criminology defined and taught? Which are the main lines of research? Which are the main schools of thought in each country? These and many other questions are answered by fellow researchers who share their vision on the development of criminology in their countries from its beginnings to the second decade of the 21st century.
The podcast is hosted by Marcelo F. Aebi, from the University of Lausanne (Switzerland) and Lieven Pauwels, from Ghent University (Belgium).
