Hello, everyone! Today I will be talking about creation and destruction. Where is there health within this pairing and where is there dysfunction. I also explore the relationship of existence and exile within groups and how group ecosystems create opportunities for healthy dynamic mutual growth and dynamic mutual destruction.

The inquiry at the end is about finding our sovereignty while being a part of an ecosystem.

Let’s dive in!

In this Episode you’ll learn:
[02:30] Creation and Destruction.
[03:00] Disempowerment Triangle: Victim, Perpetrator, and Savior
Victim: the one who is destroyed, or experiences death
Perpetrator: The one who destroys or kills
Savior:  The one who tries to save the victim (perhaps keeping a new phase of creation from emerging)
[03:34] Slow health for creation and destruction.
Mediation- killing off some ideas in order to give room for new ideas.
[04:01] Medium health for creation and destruction.
The microbiome- Our bodies are killing off bacteria that hurt our ecosystem in order to create health and opportunity for the ones we want to thrive.
[05:09] Fast health for creation and destruction.
Athletes want to beat or destroy other teams so we can win/exist/move on. Or a courtroom debate in which you want to destroy one perspective so another can survive.
[05:39] Existence.
In relationship to others.  When a sibling comes along, does the oldest one feel threatened? Does the first child feel like they need to annihilate the incoming child in order to survive?
If parents and children get enough layers of support is it possible that there is a healthy co-existence in which they thrive in their age appropriate roles?
[08:08] Processing thoughts out loud.
The first time I decided I would get up in front of a group.
When sharing in groups has a positive ripple effect
Group Dynamics, the ones who participate and the ones that do not.
[10:25] Taking the path of sovereignty. The path to sovereignty is to exist no matter another’s response to us.
n a balanced state we don’t have to wait for another to accept us or the space we inhabit.  AND we can be mindful of the ecosystem we live in.
[12:23] The Empowerment Triangle.
“The perpetrator” who would be the destroyer, abuser, or the killer,  becomes “the challenger.” I challenge you to grow, to notice your own existence.
“The victim” becomes “the creative,” and gathers resources to find a new way through.
“The savior” can be “the coach” or an ally.  They are there to witness, support and possibly to hold the tension field while the challenge gets alchemized.
[13:15] It’s no longer an all or nothing.  It’s no longer total exile, annihilation or destruction of self.  There’s a sustainable middle place.  We can destroy parts that no longer serve in order to update ourselves toward our blueprint.

Quotes:
“As we grow more into our authentic selves, and as we grow in our capacity to be stable as somebody says something or does something that might normally exile us, we are growing in our capacity to be in this tension field.  We can exist even as somebody else is having hard feelings that might be towards us, something about our very existence that might trigger them. We have the capacity to exist anyway. And that this is part of the path of sovereignty.” – Sarah
“Destruction doesn't have to be of my whole self, it does not have to be of my existence, but it can be of parts of myself that could be updated.” – Sarah
“We are working to be our sovereign selves in the face of great difficulty in which another person is not working on their awakening. We choose to do so anyway.” -Sarah

Description

Threshold Moments is a podcast about people who follow their hearts to lead their most authentic lives. Along the way they will cross over some thresholds in which it is clear that what once worked, no longer works. The next version is awaiting. The path is unknown, and safety structures will fall away.
Once a week, you can expect to hear from incredible guests about the moments that forever changed them. They’ll share their messy middles, the things they can now laugh at in retrospect, the lessons they’ve learned along the way, and the freedom they’ve found by following the pull.
You’ll hear about a variety of navigation tools:
Some of my guests rely on breathing, fitness, or hot/cold therapy.
Some track the moon, their menstrual cycles, their mind set, or sensations in their bodies.
Others attune to nature, their spiritual team, and/or dreams.
Others use psychedelic medicine and or psychotherapy.
No matter the tools, threshold moments tend to be ripe w/ heartbreak, excitement, fear, and possibility. Therefore this podcast is also about companionship because being accompanied and witnessed on the way through can be the most essential layer of support our nervous system and psyches can receive during a time of uncertainty and reclamation.
I started this podcast because I deeply honor the full cycle or transformation, not just the sparkly ends. I think it’s inspiring. And, it lets us know we’re not alone on this journey home.
My hope is that you will feel that in your bones: you. Are. not. Alone. You are in great company.
