Durée : 37:30
There were few enemies of the Romans who had as much success as Arminius. One of the Germani who fought at their side, he was able to unite the disparate tribes, lure three Roman legions into a trap, and defeat them at the battle of Teutoburg Forest. His success and later resistance would leave the area largely free of Roman influence.

Be transported to ancient Rome

Emperors of Rome has been my loyal companion during my walks these past months. I have now listened to it longer then I spent studying my textbooks on Roman history during my history studies. But the podcast is so much more interesting and compelling… Matt is an attentive, funny and informed host and Dr Evans and Dr Davenport are off course very knowledgable but also excellent storytellers.

Roman history with personal insights

This podcast simply works very well. The key element is simple: Historians with deep knowledge of their topic, talking about it in a very accessible manner. With an interview dynamic that is just right, and allows specialists to pick topics of which they have a good story to tell, it never becomes dry.
