What’s the Deal With These Offensive Linemen?

What’s the Deal With These Offensive Linemen?

Durée : 33:31
Every draft season, humans who can block other humans are at a premium. But are there certain teams and certain quarterbacks who need great offensive linemen, while others simply need “good enough” up front? How do you separate the lineman from the QB and the system? And what might we learn from watching Austin Corbett in 2022?
Conor and Gary get existential in the offensive line draft preview, but then they get down to business. A look at the top prospects in this draft class, and why the Jaguars might be better off going O-line with the first overall pick rather than selecting Aidan Hutchinson.
Plus, identifying a couple of under-the-radar prospects who could be sitting on the board in Round 2, and yearning for (or, loathing the thought of) a Michael McDonald/311 collaboration.

Some ok analysis, but miss the X’s & O’s talk

The MMQB does a good job in offering a fair variety of shows throughout the week, but the product has been watered down some this year.
I especially like the Weak Side Podcast on Wednesday because of the great chemistry between Jenny Vrentas and Connor Orr. Albert Breer has some good insight into the business behind the NFL (e.g. coaching changes) and I love how Gary Gramling can recap a game.
Recently though the MMQB has slipped a bit in my personal rankings, since there isn’t anyone left that can really talk in depth about football schemes and plays. When Andy Benoit was laid off, the MMQB lost their “X’s and O’s” analyst. I now have to turn to other podcasts for that, which is a real shame and now the MMQB isn’t my first podcast of the week anymore.
Ok content, will listen and enjoy, but not the first choice anymore.
